Fiancé shares heartbreak of shattered dreams and dashed hopes

The fiancé of one of the Phoenix victims has taken to Facebook to share his heartbreak of shattered dreams and dashed hopes.

“You were the love of my life, my better half, my soul mate and my best friend,” Macaelin Padayachee wrote on his page after his girlfriend Denisha Govindsamy was found murdered on Friday.

Govindsamy, 22, her Rackelle Nikita, 16, and her mother Jane Govender, 44, were killed in their Longcroft Drive flat in Unit 8.

Padayachee, pictured, had been engaged to Govindsamy and had planned to marry early next year.

“Baby, we had so many goals that we were supposed to achieve together,” he wrote. “Baby, every dream I had, every single one was with you in it babe. Now every bit of hope and dreams is crushed.

“Words cannot explain the torture that’s going on in my heart, knowing that I don’t have you no more.”

Padayachee said he and Govindsamy had been house hunting and “on the verge of getting our bond so we could get our own place together”.

“We were so damn excited to call it our own place. We wanted to have babies together, two sons. We wanted to get two cream Chow-chows as pets. We were supposed to live happily ever after,” he wrote.

“I love you more than I love myself, I love you so much it hurts so bad when I think off what happened to you. And even though I’m a grown man, I break down crying. You thought me how to love, you (are) the only girl I ever loved and now I don’t have you. But I know you’re in a better place now… RIP my Queen.”

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said the suspect, a 45-year-old former tow truck driver, would appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on three counts of murder
