Mom’s friend arrested in Phoenix triple murder

Police have arrested a man believed to be the boyfriend of the Phoenix mother who was killed with her two daughters.

The bodies of Jane Govindsamy, 44, and her daughter Nikita, 16, were found in their flat on Longcroft Drive in Unit 8, when her husband returned from his night shift at around 7:30am on Friday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said police later found the body of the elder daughter, Denisha, 22, in a cupboard. She had been stabbed.

He said a post-mortem would be conducted to determine how the victims had died.

“A 45-year-old man who is known to the family was traced and arrested on Friday night,” said Zwane. “He will be charged with three counts of murder and will appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.”
